A hard-working Irish farm girl from Iowa, Eileen Comeaux first visited Maui in 1976 while working in the kitchen on the TransAlaska pipeline. Working 10-hour days, 7 days a week for 7 months awarded her 5 months off so this young adventurer spent her free time backpacking and camping all around Maui. It was the sleepy seaside town of Hana where she met her love Rene, and it was their love of the Hawaiian lifestyle that would anchor them to East Maui ever since.

Rene and Eileen bought the future site of Hana Herbs and Flowers sight-unseen in 1982. While it was a 10-acre "overgrown jungle," Eileen and Rene spent the last 25-years clearing and planting the land, raising their children and nurturing their dreams of becoming self-sufficient farmers and successful entrepreneurs.

Today, Hana Herbs and Flowers grow 100% certified organic tropical flowers, fresh herbs, certified wildcrafter and native Pohole (Maui Fern Shoots) that are delivered to customers throughout Hawaii.
